Note!
What does “No tax-free threshold” mean? It means the maximum amount someone can earn in a year without having to pay taxes. In Australia, this limit is $18,200 between July 1st and June 30th of the next year, regardless of where the income comes from. This is only for residents and those on working holiday visas; non-residents are not included.
So, if you’re on a working holiday visa, you’ll be taxed at 15% on all your income until you earn $45,000. Australian residents, however, don’t pay any tax on the first $18,200 they earn, and then they pay 19% on income between $18,200 and $45,000.
